MISS UNIVERSE CHILE 2012

Ana Luisa König, 22, is the new Miss Universe Chile 2012. She won the coveted title on Friday night, besting 13 other women.

MISS AND MISTER TENERIFE 2012

This weekend saw the election of Miss and Mister Tenerife 2012. The co-ed contest was held over two nights, during spectacular, gala outdoor ceremonies at  the Lago Martiánez resort in Puerto de la Cruz. First up were the men on Friday, with Alejandro Gasalla, 24, winning the Mister Tenerife 2012 title. Runners-up for Mister Tenerife 2012 were Sergio del Pino and Adrián García López. On Saturday evening, Constanza Márquez, 17, won the Miss Tenerife 2012. Runners-up for the Miss Tenerife 2012 title were Jessica Guardia and Andrea Moleiro.

MISS UNIVERSE TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO 2012

Newsday, 23-Oct-2012: Twenty-three-year-old Champs Fleurs resident, Avionne Mark emerged as a winner of the 2012 Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe title at the finals of the competition held on Sunday evening at the National Academy for the Performing Arts, Port-of-Spain. 

Mark was adjudged the best of the ten finalists chosen to compete for the crown by a panel of judges which included TT’s own Miss Universe 1977 Janelle Penny Commissiong and former Miss Trinidad and Tobago World, Valene Maharaj. 

Mark will represent Trinidad and Tobago in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant which will be held on December 19, in Nevada, USA. On Sunday evening, contestants paraded in swimsuits and evening gowns before the top five were chosen to compete in a question and answer segment. When asked if given the opportunity by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to head any ministry, and why, Mark responded she would choose Tourism. She is pursuing a Bachelors of Science in International Tourism Management at the University of the West Indies at present, and her dream is to become a Tourism Ambassador. 

“It would be a great opportunity to instill policy changes with regards to customer service in the Tourism industry of Trinidad and Tobago,” she told host Jason Williams and the audience. Mark also won the Spirit of Carnival special award during the show which was the culmination of Tribe Carnival’s first attempt at hosting the pageant, now that they are the new franchise holders.

Apart from winning the chance to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Miss Universe pageant, Mark also received several make-up, hair and accessory prizes and a $10,000 cash prize and costume, courtesy Tribe. First runner-up at the pageant was Mauricia De Peza, second runner-up Ria Da Costa, third runner-up was Fan Favourite award recipient Sarah Jane Waddell, and rounding out the top five was Jessica Didier who also copped the Spirit of the Champion award.

MISS INTERNATIONAL 2012

The new Miss International 2012 is Miss Japan Ikumi Yoshimatsu. She won the title tonight. First runner-up was Miss Finland Viivi Suominen. Miss Sri Lanka Madusha Mayadunne was second runner-up, Miss Dominican Republic Melody Jiménez was third runner-up, and Miss Paraguay Nicole Huber was fourth runner-up. This year, the contest was held in Okinawa, Japan.

SRTA. Y MR. DEPORTE VENEZUELA 2012

Better late than never! The new Srta. Deporte and Mr. Deporte Venezuela were crowned on 13 September. Mariana Jiménez is the Srta. Deporte Venezuela 2012; Luis Castillo is the new Mr. Deporte Venezuela 2012.

BEST MODEL OF TURKEY 2012

Sezgi Sena Akay, 17 and Berk Atan, 21, won the co-ed Best Model of Turkey 2012 contest this past week. Runners-up to Sezgi were Özlem Ergin and Amina Sihman. Runners-up to Berk were Numan Unvan and Boğaç Aksoy.

MISS AND MISTER MARINGA 2012

This past Thursday, in Maringá, Paraná, Brazil, the new Miss and Mister Maringá 2012 were elected. Isis Stocco Machado, 20, is Miss Maringá 2012, and Michel Cristian de Oliveira, 25, is the Mister  Maringá 2012. Runners-up for the Miss Maringá 2012 title were Bruna Mariano and Pâmela Detros. MISTER UNIVERSITARIO COSTA RICA 2012

Alonso Chaves, 22 and 1m81 and licenciado in business administration is the new Mister Universitario Costa Rica. He won the title this past Sunday during a gala ceremony at the Hotel Crown Plaza Corobicí. Winner of the "Best Body" award was  Alejandro Acuña. A total of eight men competed for the prestigious title.

MISTER MONDO ITALIA 2012

The new Mister Mondo Italia (Mister World Italy) 2012 is Fabio Rondinelli, 26 and 1m90. He won the title during a casting on Sunday in Lecce, Italy, and will now represent his country at Mr World 2012.

MISTER TAHITI 2012

 

Patoarii Garrigues, 24, is the new Mister Tahiti 2012. He won the title Saturday night in front of an audience of 2,000 at the Hotel Intercontinental Beachcomber in Punaauia. First runner-up was Stanley Paie, and second-runner up was Teiki Vidal.

This weekend saw the crowning of Miss and Mister C.C. El Osito L'Eliana 2012 in L'Eliana, Valencia, Spain. Winning the coveted titles were Amparo Roda Traura and Adrian Herrero, This is the second edition of the contest, and is already one of Beauty School's favorite contests. Lorraine, Beauty School Librarian, is a special aficionado. A co-ed pageant in a mall equals seventh heaven for her!
