METRO OR NOT, MISTER SPAIN IS SEXY

In a recent encastillalamancha article, Diego Otero, Mister Spain 2011 and futbolista for the team C.D. Madridejos is quoted as saying: "They've been laughing at me two years" and "There are colleagues who wear more hair gel, who are more metrosexual than me." The article discusses his experience as Mister Spain, performing guapo oficial duties and at the same time maintaining his central position on C.D. Madridejos. The article goes on to say that Diego is committed to the doble causa of improving his team's status in their division and taking full advantage of his Mister Spain title.

THE RATINGS PROJECT (TRP) - MISS UNIVERSE 2012

Hitfix, 20-Dec-2012: The two-hour performance finale of "The X Factor" got only a small bump over last week's Wednesday show, but it still had no trouble beating NBC's Miss Universe Pageant and leading the night in all measures. Note, if you care, that Miss Universe hit a four-year high in viewers and was up from last year among young viewers, though last year's show aired in September and from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. More at Hitfix website.

SWEET TWEET TO TURKISH DELIGHT

OMG. There was basically a throw-down in the BS staff lounge this morning, what with the results of last night's Miss Universe. But before all hell broke loose, everyone did congratulate Dean Harris on his tweet to Miss Universe Turkey, Çağıl Özge Özkul, making it onto the live NBC telecast. Dean Harris was her #1 fan among the BS staff and insisted she be both POD and Dean's List. Absolute in his knowledge that she would make the top 16, he tweeted his support and voilà!

More on the throw-down later. Let's just say for now that Prof. Chandni, as is her wont, started it!

Last night was the second time in the history of the Universe that there was a Philippines-USA face-off. The first time, in Athens, Greece, in 1973, there was a different outcome, which is funny, because USA's Amanda Jones of Illinois is really Olivia Culpo 1.0 and Margarita "Margie" Moran is really Janine Tugonon 1.0. #tbt

MR SINGH INTERNATIONAL 2012

India Today, 17-Dec-2012: Tejinder Pal Singh Kathua - a youth hailing from Jammu was declared Mr Singh International 2012, the Sikh brand ambassador - following a rigorous competition. The final of the competition was held in Amritsar on Sunday night. Deepinder Singh, a young Sikh boy from Ludhiana was declared the first runners up while Tarandeep Singh from Amritsar bagged the third position.The competition was organised by two religious outfits - Akal Purakkh Ki Fauj and Chief Kalhsa Dewan. A large number of Sikh youth from countries as far as the UK, Canada, Mauritius and Australia participated in the competition to grab the Mr Singh International 2012 title. More at India Today.

As BS students know all too well, we love co-ed pageants and try to cover as many of them as we can! Two of faves recently took place - Miss and Mister Bavaria and Miss and Mister Sinop.

Miss and Mister Bayern (Bavaria) 2013 took place on 08 December. Julia Althammer, 19, won the Miss Bavaria 2013 title, while Stephan Schwindtm 31, won the Mister Bavaria 2013 title.

And in Brazil, another of our favorites, Miss and Mister Sinop 2013, took place on 14 December. Priscila Rauber, 18, was elected Miss Sinop 2013, and Felipe Augusto, 20, was elected Mister Sinop 2013. Runners-up for the Miss Sinop title were Brena Ferneda and Camyla Marques. Runners-up for Mister Sinop title were Josué Lima and Gilvandro Sonalio.

MU2012 - THE DEAN'S LIST

Making the Dean's List this year are, in random order: Philippines, Venezuela, USA, Chile, Georgia, Puerto Rico, Malaysia, Kosovo, Mexico, Guyana, Sweden, Turkey, Thailand, Australia, and South Africa.

The criteria for making the Dean's List were, in random order: 1) online buzz, such as leaderboards (however nationalistic in origin or suspiciously contrived), WTF-style speculation and hilarious catfighting on blogs and discussion boards; 2) the "MUO" guessing game (figuring out who the Donald and Paula Sugar will pick - mainly Europeans, blonds, or both); 3) maniacal, crazed, fierce, and entirely fearsome (and to be respected) fans from Puerto Rico and the Philippines; and 4) the Beauty School staff's favorites. All four criteria were used to select the final group making the Dean's List. Prof. Chandni kindly requests that all haters bring it on. She is ready, honey. Trust us, she is ready, after having to endure the truth of the matter that a white girl from South Africa is on the f*ing Dean's List this year. And to add insult to injury, the girl could win it all!
