MISS BAHIA 2013
Over the weekend, Bahia elected its representative to Miss Brazil 2013. She is none other than the stunning Priscila Cidreira, 22. She beat out 29 women during a glittering televised gala at teh Hotel Sheraton Bahia in Salvador. Will she win Miss Brazil 2013 and represent her country at Miss Universe 2013?

MISS MOLDOVA 2013
The new Miss Moldova 2013 is Valeria Turcan, 18, for Tiraspol. She triumphed over 17 other women for the coveted title. Valeria will now represent the tiny. land-locked Eastern European nation at Miss World 2013.

REY Y REINA BELLEZA NAVARRA 2013
Last night during a co-ed ceremony in the Baluarte Auditorium in Pamplona, Iosu Valero, 23, and Carolina Lacalle, 19, won the titles of Rey y Reina Belleza Navarra 2013. 12 men and 12 women competed for the coveted titles.

Мистер Россия UNIVERSE 2013
The new Мистер Россия Universe 2013 is Vladimir Trebuzov, 33, and a dentist from St. Petersburg. Vladimir will now represent Russia at Mister Universe Model 2013. Runners up for the title of Мистер Россия Universe 2013 were Ivan Barkov, 21, and Andrei Polyakov, 26. Named Мистер Россия International 2013 was Roman Homa, 24.

BEAUTY OF SOCIAL MEDIA - LECTURE TWO
In our first lecture of our new on-line course "The Beauty of Social Media," we explored facebook. Our second lecture continues that exploration. Please consult the facebook pages below and write a 10-page, typed (and we mean typewriter!) essay on the aspects of each facebook page you like the most and why, as well as those aspects you like the least and why.

MISS UNIVERSE HRVATSKE 2013
A glittering gala on Friday night at the Crystal Ballroom in the Westin Hotel in Zagreb saw the crowning of Melita Fabečić as the new Miss Universe Hrvatske (Croatia) 2013. Melita won the title of Miss Photogenic, too. The newspaper 24sata called Melita a veritable clone of Brazilian super model Adriana Lima. What do you think? Not including Adriana Lima, twenty women competed for the prestigious crown. First runner-up was Antea Valenta; second runner-up was Mia Milinović.
Dean Harris and Prof. Chandni both agree that Melita could fare well @ Miss Universe 2013. The Donald and Paula Sugar seem to be amenable to a Croatian girl winning the title. If Melita gets the right coaching and learns how to ooze just the right blend of chastity and sexiness appropriate for a Miss Universe, she could fare very well!

MISS SUOMI 2013
During a glittering, televised ceremony yesterday, blonde Lotta Hintsa, 24, won the Miss Suomi (Finland) 2013 title. Runners-up in the 52nd annual edition of the venerable, prestigious contest were Mary Kerisalmi and Heli Enter Ylimaula. Lotta will now represent her Scandinavian country in Miss Universe 2013. The last time Finland made the cut at Miss Universe was 1996, with Miss Universe 1996 second runner-up Lola Odusoga. Can Lotta break the dry spell? We'll see.

BEAUTY QUEEN 2013/KRALIJCA LJEPOTE 2013
Croatia has a new beauty queen! The winner of the simply and aptly named Beauty Queen 2012/Kralijca Ljepote 2013 title is Nikolina Pavlić. She won the contest today during a ceremony in Zagreb. Runners-up for the title were Lucija Grmuša and Petra Družinec.
In other Croatian-related news, media outlet Tportal reports that Anica Kovac nee Martinovic, Miss Croatia 1996 and Miss World 1996 first runner-up, is interested in the Croatian franchise for Miss World.

According to the website La 1ère, Miss Tahiti Hinarani de Longeaux, Miss Tahiti 2012 and Miss France 2013 first runner-up, will represent the Gallic nation at Miss Universe 2013. The website suggests that the contest will be held in Las Vegas again - and in December in again.
