The new Miss South Africa 2015 is Liesl Laurie, 23 and a university graduate. She won the title today at the climax of a gala ceremony held at the Sun City Superbowl on Sunday night. Runners-up were Refilwe Mthimunye and Ntsiki Mkhize. Gracing the event were the current Miss World Rolene Strauss, Miss World 1974 Anneline Kriel, and Miss World 1958 Penny Coelen Ray.

| From www.enca.com: Liesl Laurie is 24 and comes from Eldorado Park, in Johannesburg and graduated with a B.Com General Degree from the University of Johannesburg (Soweto Campus). After graduating, she decided to take the rest of the year off from university to pursue a full time career in modelling and also to embark on her journey of giving back to her community and country. “I have been working with a number of non-profit organisations that include Babies Behind Bars and Pilgrim Oasis Community Children’s Outreach in Eldorado Park and adjacent informal settlement in Kliptown.” |
