The new Miss Russia 2014 is Yulia Alipova, 23 and from Balakovo, Saratov. She won the title tonight at a contest that was a) co-hosted by a gay man; b) included Miss Universe 2013 in would could only be described as an outfit your grandmother would wear to a soiree at the country club; and c) did not take place at Crocus City Hall for some inexplicable reason.
P.S. Dean Harris and Prof. Chandni have been arguing all week about posting the results of Miss Russia 2014 because of their pariah state status. But we decided not to blame the poor Miss Russia contestants just for living there. But then again, who knows? Perhaps all of them voted for Putin in the last "election." Meanwhile, we would have never guessed that Russia would become the new pariah state! But, yes, it is true, Russia is the new pariah state. And if Putin takes Crimea in an "anschluss," we can almost certainly say he is definitely Hitler in the making, complete with genocide.
P.S.S. Miss Russia 2014 could stand a good chance of winning Miss Universe! They absolutely adore to crown pariah states at the height of their inglory (i.e. South Africa in 1978; Venezuela this year).
