Koyal Rana, 21, from Jaipur, is the new Femina Miss India 2014. Koyal's role model growing up was Sushmita Sen, Miss Universe 1994, according to Online Bollywood entertainment site Masala!:
"I am feeling on top of the world. I have clarity about what exactly I want to do in life. After being Miss India, now I aspire to be Miss World," Koyal, who was crowned on 5 April 2014 at the 51st edition of the beauty pageant said.
She "looked up to Sushmita Sen" for inspiration as she flet that the former beauty queen has "achieved so much in her life".
"Sushmita is a perfect example of beauty with brains. Even she won the Miss India title and then she was crowned Miss Universe. Besides that she also does a lot of social work. I totally look up to her," she said.Runners-up for one of all pageantdom's most coveted titles were Jhataleka Malhotra from Mumbai and Gail Nicole Da Silva from Goa. Rounding out the top five were Lopamudra Raut and Nikhila Nandgopal.The 51st annual edition of the contest took place this evening at the Yashraj Studio in Mumbai. Among the judges were Bollywood stars Malaika Arora Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez (Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2006) and Miss World 2013 herself Megan Young. The contest included a heart-felt tribute to Bollywood star and Miss Asia Pacific 1970 Zeenat Aman.
