MISS COUNCILWOMAN
The recent municipal elections in France were a supreme disappointment, what with the radical, right-wing party winning a majority of mayor and city council races throughout the country. WTF are people smoking these days that makes them radical, right-wing, hate-spewing idiot voters? With that question posed, we can say there were a few bright spots, including the election of Miss France 2012 Delphine Wespiser to the city council of her hometown, Magstatt-le-Bas, in Alsace. The 22 year-old ran as an independent (unaffiliated to any party), wanting to get more involved in her much-beloved small town of 480 inhabitants. She was elected with 51.55% of the total vote, despite having been the target of negative campaigning (about her age and inexperience). We congratulate Delphine and know she will make a great councilwoman!
