Irish Independent, 13-Oct-2014: Lisa Madden, from the Old Mallow Road in Cork, is the latest Irish woman to win Andrea Roche’s beauty pageant.
The 21-year-old was selected as the winner by Roche, and other judges including Debbie McQuillan of Vanity X Makeup academy, former Miss World Rosanna Davison, and Miss Universe Ireland 2012 Adrienne Murphy.
The 5’10” brunette, who is currently signed to Andrea Roche Modelling Agency, was previously a contestant on reality tv show Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model in 2012.
Madden survived 12 tasks and made it to the last four, before she was eliminated by judges Elle Macpherson, Julien Macdonald, Whitney Port and Tyson Beckford.
“They said my face was too strong,” Lisa said at the time. “I just had strong bone structure and find it hard to soften my face.”NOTE: Lisa was selected from among 11 other women after private interviews with the jury, headed by franchise holder Andrea Roche. The jury selected Sinead Duffy and Rose McGahan as runners-up. Some of our more serious scholars, whose academic research on Miss Universe does not begin in 2012, will know that Andrea repped Ireland at Miss Universe 1998 and finished in the top ten.
