The national costume of Miss Universe Australia 2014 Tegan Martin, designed by Caitlin Holstock, features colors inspired by the Australian desert and incredible prints used with permission from the Wurundgeri tribe (The prints are taken from the art of Wurundgeri elder William Barak). The costume also includes a beaded headband and "loincloth" and an almost but not quite sunset headdress with adjustable tent poles. Miss Universe Australia sponsor Elucent Skincare ran this year's national costume competition. The winning costume was chosen by a public vote from four other finalists. More than 20,000 votes were cast in the competition.
