Love the fashion week-like staging! Dean Harris would have really enjoyed sitting in the front row! |
A lot of pageant watchers called it! Yes, Patricia Yurena Rodríguez, 23 and 1m79, is indeed the new Miss Universe Spain 2013 and will represent her Iberian nation in Moscow. She won during a low-key, but high-style competition last night in Madrid. She beat 11 other aspirants for the first-ever, gorgeous new Miss Universe Spain crown, designed by Venezuelan jeweller George Wittels. The jury members for this inaugural edition of Miss Universe Spain included Ramiro Finol, director of Miss World Dominican Republic; David Deibis, international make-up artist; Junior Celaya, world-noted pageant expert; and Verónica Hidalgo, Miss Spain 2005 (she competed in Miss Universe 2005) and winner of Spanish reality TV dance show “¡Mira quién salta!”
Now this is a bikini-clad body that will definitely get the Donald's attention. WOW! |
It seems like the competition for Miss Universe 2013 gets better and better with each national election, and this year without a doubt will be one of the best. Let's hope Patricia doesn't disappoint all of those who are cray-cray about her, including the mayor of her hometown of Granadilla de Abona. The mayor joined the editors of the newspaper Voz de Tenerife in congratulating her on this big win and wishing her the best in Russia:
