MISS ALGERIA 2014

Miss Algeria 2014 is Fatma-Zohra Sabrine Chouib, 20, from Bab El Oued in Algiers. She was elected last night during a gala ceremony at the Hilton Hotel. Over-shadowing the second annual Miss Algeria (Miss Algérie) contest was a gaffe by the one, the only, La Dame au Chapeau herself, Mme Geneviève de Fontenay, who inadvertently said "French Algeria" while on stage (if you know anything about Algeria, you know you don't say that!). In protest, the country's Telecommunications Minister, Fatla-Zohra Derdouri, left the ballroom, followed by other VIPs. Mme de Fontenay judged at last year's contest, too, but we not sure she will be invited to the third annual event!

 Can you imagine having to give your first press conference after Mme de Fontenay's gaffe?
