Triple Crown, bby, for the Empire State and home of the Big Apple! For the third year in a row, New York wins the Miss America crown! Last night, it was Kira Kazantsev, 23 and a graduate of Long Island's Hofstra University. She is an aspiring lawyer and has already been accepted to Fordham University's School of Law. And like her predecessor Nina Davuluri, she is the child of immigrants - Kira's parents came to America from Russia.

Kira makes top five! Her win marked the first time a state has scored a hat trick at the Miss America Competition. Also, her win ties New York with California, Ohio, and Oklahoma as states with the most wins - six each.
The time-honored, morning after dip in the Atlantic Ocean! When Miss Universe was held in Miami Beach from 1960 to 1971, they tried to imitate this photo op, but as with all things Miss Universe, it was to no avail - nothing but a a cheap, tacky, rip-off of the original.
